5 Lions Megaways: the 1–40× range is not an average multiplier
1–40 × can be found in the Wild multipliers description of 5 Lions Megaways. That’s a range, not saying that every value has an equal chance or that 40 × is what you usually get. Here is a small example of why limit and average are different.

Just what does the range say?
According to official product overview, base-game Wilds have 1 ×–40 × multipliers. The page does not list the frequency of each factor. Minimum and maximum are not enough to know the average.
The bonus options are also separate from the base-game description. Do not move a range to the selected bonus without reading the actual option and help. Our example is just to explain what information is missing from the range.
Same endpoints, different averages
Let’s create two fictional models. Only two values can appear in these models: 1 and 40. Percentages are their own arithmetic inputs; This is not an estimate or test result of the game.
| Model | Chance of 1 | Chance of 40 | Weighted average |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 99% | 1% | 0.99 × 1 + 0.01 × 40 = 1.39 |
| B | 50% | 50% | 0.50 × 1 + 0.50 × 40 = 20.5 |
The min is 1 and the max is 40. But the average is 1.39 in A and 20.5 in B. That’s the limit of the range-only claim: many possible frequency models have the same endpoints.

Why is the computed average still not RTP?
Even knowing the distribution of the multiplier is not enough to know the average payout. Qualified wins, raw amounts, applicable Wild membership and relationship of events are still needed. There is no automatic win when there is a multiplier value.
Model B also cannot be converted to 20.5 × average return. That is an average of a fictional factor, not an actual money outcome. The hypothetical distribution is a demonstration of missing information, not a substitute for game mathematics.
How to read a range claim
Ask if the reference is base game or specific bonus, is the label range or fixed factor, and is there verified probability data. If the source is only up to range, the conclusion is only up to range.
There is no “better option” that the guide chooses. For the actual round, record the resolved multiplier and settled award. For statistical claims, other evidence is needed than the highest number in the promotional overview.
